One Woman's Trash

I recently saw two perfectly serviceable barstools out by my neighbor's trash.  They needed paint, and the seats needed to be redone, but I know how to do that!

This is the before picture.  The paint was faded, and the cushions were falling apart.  But isn't the shape cute??  I love all the curves on these barstools.

My husband cut new platforms for the seats, and I purchased foam and fabric for them.  A new coat of paint, cushions, fabric, and voila!

This is the same fabric I used for my new kitchen curtains.  I love it, and even my daughter thinks it's cool!  (I choose a lot of fabric that she doesn't care for.)

Excuse the mess on the bar - my neighbor came to pick them up while I was doing dishes, and I had forgotten to take pictures.

She couldn't believe how nice they looked.  And she couldn't believe I knew how to "fix them up".  Easy peasy.  One woman's trash truly is another woman's treasure!

  1. Those are some mighty fine bar stools! I also really like the fabric. Funny, I've always had rich colors and for the first time in the 30 years I've had my own home(s), I want to use light colors!
