Mixing Patterns

I just love mixing patterns.  It creates so much interest, to me.  So I was excited about a recent find that fits right in with what I have going on in my office.

Here is the chair that started it all.  As you can see, it's very comfortable.

Some members of the family find it comfortable enough to sleep in (myself included).

I never thought I liked brown in my decor until I bought this chair two or three years ago.  Since then, a whole scheme has evolved around it!  I love all the warm colors in this room; it makes me happy.

So finding this pillow on ebay that worked with all of my brown-based patterns in here just made me a happy camper.  It is petipoint, and it is flowers (which I love).  I think the background is actually greenish-brown; and the velvet back is green.  It all works.  I have green silk curtains I made that sometimes find their home in this room.

Eventually I want to make some curtains out of the same fabric as this little footstool cover I made.  Isn't the fabric beautiful?  I found it on the remnant table at Hancock's, very inexpensively!

The total mix

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a great day!

  10. Oh Girl,
I just wandered into your blog on a link from the Plate Addict. This post just reached out and grabbed me!! I think from what I have already read, that you are somewhere in Texas, and so am I....then I got to these pictures and lo and behold, we have the same fabrics...the brown floral is in my living room, the big checks are in my den and kitchen and a close relative of the chair fabric accents the checks in the den!! How cool is that!!
    Blessings to you,
    J
