Chest Remake

I really liked the shape of this chest the first time I saw it.  (Had already taken the handles off when I took this picture.)  It came looking like this, with the scuffed up finish.

Enter my inspiration piece.  I fell in love with the painting on this tray that I bought at a garage sale.  So I decided I wanted to paint the chest in this way, with the same color green stripes.

Now I can paint a wall - and tape off stripes!-, but don't expect me to do much more than that.  So for the flowers I wanted, I told my friend who is an incredible artist what I was looking for and in what colors.  She did the most beautiful design.  (If I knew how, I would edit out the cord and electrical plug.  But I don't, so there you go.)

This little chest has been all over my house; here it is in the very boring living room (when the living room was still beige - many transitions ago!)

It has now found its home in my bedroom, as my bedside table.  I had about a quarter of an inch to spare, but I love it there!
